The cold embraced him. Wearing a jacket didn’t help. He shuddered as he walked faster to his destination. He thought about what happened.
The pain he inflicted on her came without thought. It was an impulse to what life was throwing at him. He didn’t mean it. But the pain caused her to limp. Now he was returning to the clinic with food and water. Should he embrace her? Would she accept it?
When he entered, she ran to him. Surprised, he opened his arms to greet her with a hug.
“I’m sorry,“ he whispered as he embraced his dog.
