He was the last one alive. He couldn’t stop firing his gun. The aliens were winning. He couldn’t give up. They weren’t taking any prisoners. They were aliens who ate humans.
This suicide mission’s goal was to delay the onslaught of the aliens. He volunteered because his life wasn’t going anywhere. His wife took his son with her as she ran off with another man. He fired his gun believing he was shooting at specimens of his wife and her lover.
He then felt an alien’s bullet hit his heart. For the first time in his life, he was happy.
