Everyone in the city was wildly looting. The world’s destruction was coming. It was all over the news. But one teenager who lived alone stayed at home. He didn’t want to steal as his neighbors were doing.
He instead spent the time secretly building a spacecraft, learning how from his dying father. He boarded it on the day disaster came. Neighbors found out but laughed as he was taking off. “You’ll just prolong your death,” they shouted. He sadly shook his head. Perhaps, he thought, but at least he would die with dignity, a lost trait of this dying Earth.
